Are you stuck? Are you feeling frustrated with the direction of your life? What do you want?
Part of my work with anyone whether it is an adult, a teenager, or a business is to find out what that person really wants in their life. It’s my job to help lead you to a place of understanding, awareness, and acceptance so you can really get what you want!
I have a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Purdue University and over 13 years experience working with adolescents, adults, and families in finding their way to better communication and improving relationships, decreasing feelings of sadness, loss, anger, worry, as well as gaining improvements in physical, mental, and emotional well being.
I have a straight-forward, direct approach and utilize a cognitive behavioral theoretical model with large doses of humor, empathy, safety, and compassion. I believe that once we feel safe sharing our thoughts and feelings we can change our behavioral patterns through hard work, introspection and insight.
I believe that therapy should be available to anyone that wants it no matter their income or insurance. My fees are $70/hour, however, I offer a sliding fee scale to all clients and our first 50minute consultation is free. At this time, I do not accept insurance, however I may be able to meet your “co-pay” fee!

I believe that the way we manage life experiences is based on the skills and meanings we learned while growing up; we do what we've been taught, observed in others, or what has worked for us in the past. And sometimes, this leaves us feeling stuck or helpless.
My approach to counseling and therapy is compassionate, collaborative and strength based, and my primary model is family-centered. Together, we will look at practical supports and resources to help you address current struggles. At the same time, I will encourage you to examine past beliefs that may be making it more difficult to cope with the challenges you face.
I have developed a special interest and compassion in my practice for women and couples experiencing pregnancy, post-partum depression and anxiety, infertility, and pregnancy and infant loss. I also have a special interest in clients coping with cancer and have provided supportive counseling to parents who have cancer as they face coping with their illness and their children's needs. Please feel free to call with any questions at all.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Masters in Social Work from Portland State University. My current fee is $50 for a 50-minute session, with sliding scale fee options available. I offer a free 30-minute consultation, and I look forward to hearing from you.

At times of crisis or confusion, reaching out for skilled help is a choice that reflects personal strength and a true desire for something better in your life. It is a privilege for me to offer support and assistance at just those moments. With twenty years experience serving women and families, I am able to help you move through times of depression or anxiety, stress related to chronic illness, domestic violence or substance abuse, and issues related to parenting your own or others' children.
The dynamics of diverse families are familiar to me, and I can help you untangle issues that may seem overwhelming. Single mothering, foster parenting, grandparents raising grandchildren, and adult children coping with an elder or ill parent's needs are all areas I can assist you with. I also specialize in working with children and families with an incarcerated or corrections involved loved one. Family issues are complex and can seem unmanageable. We will work together to gain a new perspective on the issues you face so that you can continue to move forward in your own life while taking care of those you love. I will work to help you develop greater resiliency, cope more effectively and gain creative problem-solving skills.
I have a casual presence and prefer to inform my clients of the techniques I am using as we progress in therapy. I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral and psychotherapeutic approaches for women and families.
I am willing to provide a free consultation prior to engagement in therapy, and I offer a generous sliding fee scale for people of limited means. I am also able to work with some insurance plans as an 'out of network' provider - please do not let financial concerns stand in the way of help. If I cannot meet your needs, I will do my best to connect you with one of my colleagues. Due to a conflict of interest, I currently cannot accept individuals who are on supervision to Multnomah County Department of Community Justice.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Parents, children and the family as a whole are constantly changing to the needs of their daily lives. This change is necessary for anyone to make it through the day. However, there are times when we struggle to adapt or maybe don't know the best way to change. It is my belief that it is the job of a counselor to help rediscover your own strength and ability to create long lasting change in your life.
I received my Master's Degree in education from the University of Oregon in couples and family therapy. My approach to family therapy is a structural based model, however, I also use cognitive behavioral therapy and play therapy approaches. As a base, I approach therapy from a strength-based perspective. I believe in highlighting the ways you are succeeding as well as focusing on the skills you have used to overcome problems in the past, and learning how to use those same skills to overcome your problems now. I have worked in community and school-based programs, focusing on high intensity and high need families and children.
I specialize in treatment of trauma, anger control, ADHD, oppositional defiance, DHS involvement or foster care/adoption transitions, family blending, parental conflict, divorce, family reunification, depression, attachment and anxiety.
I am a registered intern with the state of Oregon, working towards getting my license in Marriage and Family Therapy. My current fee is $40/50 min session with sliding scale available. I offer a free initial consultation up to 30 minutes. I look forward to speaking with you.
