Whether it is the first time you are seeking therapy or if you are returning to therapy, the process of finding a therapist can be daunting. I believe it is essential to find a therapist that feels right, someone who can understand you.
I attempt to meet individuals where they are at, assisting each to examine their particular issues in a warm environment that fosters growth through exploration. My approach is psychodynamic; I work collaboratively with individuals in illuminating new strategies for creating positive change.
I hold a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work (MSW) from the University of Chicago and have experience working as a therapist in hospitals, schools, community mental health centers, and residential treatment facilities. I have over ten years of experience working with families, couples, adolescents, and adults coping with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, loss, substance abuse, eating disorders, phobias and relationship difficulties. I provide culturally appropriate services and practice in a way that is LGBTQ affirming. I am a Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA) in the state of Oregon and I am in the process of becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
I am committed to providing effective, affordable therapy; I have a flexible rate and provide a free 30 minute consultation to discuss the best way to meet your needs. I look forward to hearing from you.

I have helped empower many clients to explore and come to terms with issues like these.
My years of education, training and work in this field have given me a detailed perspective about some of the concerns that trouble people – as well as the underlying challenges and complicated feelings that come up when dealing with them.
My broad, integrative background helps me work sensitively and effectively with clients to meet their individual goals in therapy and emphasizes mindfulness and insight. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I practice within the profession's highest ethical standards, which includes respect for diversity.
My standardized fee is $95 for a fifty-minute session. I will work with clients to set a modified rate that reflects their ability to pay for therapy, especially if they are uninsured or prefer not to use insurance. Shorter or longer meetings can be arranged on a pro-rated basis. Sessions over the telephone are also available.
I hope to hear from you soon.

Welcome! And thanks for checking out my practice. The process of choosing a therapist
can feel vulnerable and daunting; and engaging in a therapeutic relationship in order to
address and work through your particular suffering takes incredible insight and courage.
We all get stuck sometimes; and we suffer. Maybe you feel isolated, alone?
Disconnected from others, your own feelings, your body? Overwhelmed by chronic
negative thoughts and feelings?
Perhaps you struggle with low self-worth and
feeling “not good enough”? Maybe you feel anxious, nervous, and are unable to release
and relax? Perhaps you have particular “unfinished business” from your past that
perpetually plagues you in the present, causing problems in your daily life and in your
personal relationships?
I can help un-stick you, and get you moving, flowing, and reconnected. As a deeply
relational, engaging, and down-to-earth therapist, I will meet you where you are, just
as you are, in an atmosphere of openness, warmth, and acceptance. You are the one
true expert of yourself, and I am a well-traveled and resourced guide. Side by side, you
and I will actively collaborate to traverse your personal terrain together, mindfully,
with heart and humor. I will be there to challenge and support you on this path.
With a present, here-and-now focus on integrating aspects of mind, body, and heart,
we will embark upon a very experiential and interactive process of Self-discovery
and healing. You will learn to cultivate deeper awareness and acceptance, and build
incrementally upon your innate wisdom and personal strengths. An increase in vitality,
groundedness, clarity, connectedness, self-worth, acceptance, and joy is possible.
I practice using a well-informed, well-applied integrative approach to therapy that is
highly experiential, body-oriented, and person-centered. I have 10+ years experience
as a counselor working with adolescents and adults of various ages and multicultural
backgrounds; and have earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Naropa
University. I celebrate and embrace diversity in both my personal and professional life.
Because positive outcome in therapy is dependent on the quality of the therapeutic
relationship itself, I encourage you to choose a therapist you actually like, and with whom
you feel a strong connection. I offer an initial, consultation session at no cost. This
is a time for you and I to meet, and to see if we would be a good fit. I am committed
to providing affordable, individual counseling, and offer a generous sliding fee scale
($60-80/hour). I also reserve a few openings at an even lower rate for those who cannot
otherwise afford my services.
I hope to hear from you soon.

Philosophy and Approach Effective therapy depends on the quality of the working relationship that you have with your therapist. Does your therapist understand where you are coming from? Do they listen for your most important concerns and accept you no matter what? Do you feel like they respect your freedom and autonomy? Does your therapist let you determine the goals of your therapy, even if those goals change? -- These are the most important things to consider when seeking help from a professional.
While you are in charge of the goals and content o fyour therapy, it is my responsibility to guide each session into a productive process that meets your needs, with an eye on achieving some sort of concrete change within a fairly short period of time.
Many of my clients have chosen to work with me for a long period of time. However, therapy
does not have to take more than ten sessions or even five sessions to make a difference in
your life. Regardless of the length of therapy, I am committed to helping my clients manage
their problems, learn new skills, and access under-utilized resources in themselves, their
relationships, and their environment; I help people to overcome obstacles and develop new
opportunities. While I work primarily with individuals, my clients can find it productive to invite
loved ones to their therapy sessions on occasion.
Formal Education and Training I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling from George Fox
University. Major Coursework included: human growth and development, family systems,
group dynamics, career counseling and lifestyle development, psychopathology and appraisal,
personality and counseling theory, principles and techniques of counseling, spiritual identity,
depth psychology, multicultural counseling, and human sexuality. I also have training in
cognitive-behavioral therapy.
Work Experience and Specializations I have worked in community mental health settings
for over five years. Much of this time has been spent counseling and treating individuals with
mood disorders, life adjustments, relationship problems, grief and loss, impulsive behaviors and recovery from trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Additional areas of specialty include work and career issues, stress management, problematic behaviors and bad habits, internet and video game addiction, sex addiction, depression, anxiety and emotional abuse .
Fees $70 per service with a limited number of reduced-fee slots available to individuals facing financial hardship. I can provide an initial 45-minute consultation at no cost, by appointment only.

I want to welcome you and thank you for considering my services. The realization that you are stuck and something is not working can create a sincere feeling of powerlessness and frustration. The process of choosing a therapist can feel intimidating and overwhelming. The choice to actually seek out assistance and open yourself to a therapeutic relationship in order to face and work through your distressful situation takes incredible strength and I admire you for it.
Personal interactions are not always easy. Many people have areas of life that trip them up and cause frustration. Most people including myself have situations that make us feel baffled and inferior, neglected or rejected. We all have had times that we feel misunderstood, alone and even empty. It's not uncommon to experience situations where we have trouble communicating how we feel or what we truly think. In relationships our best intention of sharing our feelings ends up hurting the other person or we feel discounted in some way.
I am an integrative psychotherapist. My style could be described as attachment-based psychodynamic psychotherapy. In psychotherapy, I'm interactive with my clients. I actively seek to understand your situation from your viewpoint. Together, we will explore whatever event or situation that is troubling you and has caused you to feel stuck. I can help you discover where the stumbling blocks may be and how to remove them. I can help you to learn how to have fulfilling relationships where you are able to communicate you thoughts and feelings honestly and effectively without the fear of being rejected.
Education, Experience & Training
I have a Doctorate in clinical psychology from Argosy University in Orange County California. I have been working in this field for the last 10 years. I provided individual therapy to adults, adolescents, and children as well as couple and family therapy in both group practice models and community agency settings. Over the last four years I provided services in correctional settings in both California and Oregon. I am excited to get back to working with clients who have a desire to make positive change in their lives.
I value my clients' lifestyles, cultural and spiritual beliefs. I find that culture and spirituality often provides people with a sense of grounding and comfort. I enjoy learning about peoples' cultures and encourage meditation and other spiritual practices that help create a sense of calming and often provide direction.
Therapy is only effective with the reassurance of patient privacy. In keeping with the APA ethical guidelines, I hold all my records of our work together strictest confidence. There are certain important exceptions to confidentiality that we will discuss at our first appointment.
I am excited that you have chosen to seek help for whatever you might be facing. It takes courage to reach out and ask for help. I want to help! If you think that I am the person to help you; give me a call at 971-400-5544 or Email: drtwager@gmail.com
