I believe we all have the capacity to make positive choices and create growth in our lives, and that exploration of the past and present, along with learning skills for the present and future, can be helpful. A central focus of my practice is to help clients move out of cycles of self-blame for not meeting goals in spite of repeated attempts by instead learning to recognize the coping behaviors that are no longer working and replace those with more effective ways to meet goals.
Qualifications: I hold a Master's degree in Community Counseling and an Education Specialist's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor III, and Certified Gambling Addiction Counselor II.
Experience: I have been working in the mental health and addictions field in the Portland area since 2003. During this time, I have worked with individuals, couples, and families to address issues related to mental health, substance abuse, and gambling addiction, and the impact of these on relationships.
My standard fee for a 50-minute session is $110.00. I offer one free 30-minute initial consultation per client, couple, or family, during which we can determine whether we are a good fit to work together. I am on some insurance panels, including Aetna, MHN (covers HealthNet members), ODS, LifeSynch (covers Humana members), and LifeWise. I am able to bill some other insurance plans, and I can work with you to determine if your insurance will cover our sessions. If you are interested in working with me, do not have insurance, and would have difficulty paying my standard rate, please do not hesitate to contact me, as I have some availability for those paying at my discounted fee schedule rates.
Practice Locations: I practice at the Wise Counsel office in Gresham and at a second office in Sandy.
I know that finding a counselor can be difficult, as each client has unique needs and each counselor offers a different skill set and approach. I invite all inquiries, and will be happy to schedule a free 30-minute initial consultation with you. For more information about me and my practice, see my website at www.dinayerex.com

Relationships are important; their healthiness dictates whether we can have enjoyable interactions and open communication.
As a family therapist I am here to provide a place to understand ourselves and those we care about in a comfortable environment. I have earned a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from George Fox University and have years of counseling experience under my belt.
In my therapeutic approach I utilize family systems theory, cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused therapy. Broken down, this means that when helping you and your family, I take into account the environment, history and interactions with one another. I see children, couples families and individuals.
I have experience working with:
~ Couples Counseling ~ Family Counseling (conflict, blended families, divorce) ~ Pre-Marital Counseling from a Christian perspective ~ Foster care and adoption ~ Behavioral issues ~ Processing life transitions (new baby, empty nesters, etc.) ~ Developing healthy coping skills ~ Anxiety and depression
My fee is $40 per 50 minute session. Please contact me at Roxie.Sprick@gmail.com or call 503-756-5600 to schedule an appointment.
